Apple hints at new international Apple Watch availability details

When will you have the chance to buy Apple’s first smartwatch? We’ve heard a few different theories for specific launch windows, but the only official word out of Apple has been “early 2015.” Will that mean February? Maybe March? We can’t yet say, but the feeling that we’re looking at a Q1 release has been a strong one. At least, that’s the case in the US, but what’s the outlook for Apple Watch sales elsewhere? There’s still no hard answer to be found anywhere, but some recent changes to regional Apple Watch landing pages have begun to suggest a staggered rollout, with certain countries getting the Watch in advance of others. What’s happened has been Apple removing the “early” bit from the 2015 release info on some of these nation-specific pages. While all used to say “early 2015,” just like the US, some have now been changed to just read “available in 2015.” The fact that Apple’s going to the trouble to change them at all seems to suggest that not all markets will join the US in that initial retail push. Some still share that “early 2015” note with the US: Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, and the UK still talk about Apple Watch release plans in such terms. But nations like Australia, Japan, China, Brazil, and many others have changed to this no-longer-necessarily-early language. How long might they wait? For now, we’re in the dark, and all this really helps to reveal is a general pattern of a staggered launch. We’re probably at least a month away from getting more details, but we’ll be sure to update you with any specifics as soon as they arrive
