Even though mobile payments haven’t really gained the level of acceptance that smartphone makers would’ve expected, that doesn’t mean that Apple hasn’t found some success in the market after just one month. Recent statistics showed that the company was already enjoying 1% of digital payments, and with most users using the service more than once every week. We might attribute Apple’s success to the partnerships the company was able to land, though not everything is a pretty picture.Apple has silently updated its Apple Pay website to reflect some new light in the status of the remaining partnerships that are still not effective. In the past, the website said that the remaining partnerships were “coming later this year,” even though no dates were provided. Today, Apple has changed this text to say “coming soon,” and definitely casting a shadow on a credible status for the service to become available. The retailers currently mentioned as “coming soon” are ACME, Albertsons, Anthropologie, Free People, and Urban Outfitters. Hopefully things will evolve in the next few months, as we all want somebody to figure mobile payments out.Source: AppleVia: MacRumors
