Where the heck is the Lumia 735? Ever since it launched back in September, we’ve been anticipating Microsoft’s plans to make the phone available to shoppers in the US.FCC documentation sure seemed to support the idea of the 735 coming to Verizon, a theory backed up by separate rumors. As of a few weeks ago, the 735 found itself on a holding pattern on Microsoft’s website, listed alongside other Lumia models and showing off its various color options, but with the note “available soon” in place of a price or any hard ETA. That was fine, and we were content to wait patiently for more information. But now even that holding spot is down, leaving us to wonder what’s going on with the 735 and its fate.It was more than just a place on a list, too: Microsoft had a whole page dedicated to the Lumia 735, talking about its selfie-taking prowess and accepting registration for more info about sales once the 735 was a little closer to hitting retail. Now the whole thing is scrubbed clean, and all you’ll get when trying to visit is a generic “not available” page.Where does that leave the 735? Really, we’re not sure. It had looked like this guy was nearly ready to go up for sale in the States, and rumors had suggested that while there might be a delay, we’d finally see Verizon get the 735 in early 2015. If that’s still on-track to happen, why take the phone’s page down now of all times? We’ve reached out to Microsoft for comment, and will update this post if we hear anything.Update: It doesn’t look like we’re going to get a satisfactory explanation – all we’re hearing back is that “as a rule we don’t comment on rumors or speculation.”Source: Microsoft (archived)Via: Nokiapoweruser
