Since morning Twitter users on Android and TweetDeck have been unable to login due to a bug. The micro blogging website has acknowledged the bug, but didn’t say the cause of the outage. There is however a possibility that the outage was due to a date-related flaw, Engadget reports. The publication points to a tweet by coder Ninji, who intercepted the Android app’s login traffic. The screenshot (posted below), shows that Twitter’s servers have already changed to the year 2015. While we are still a couple of days away from the New Year, the change in date is what could have prevented users from logging in. The publication also notes that new tweets on TweetDeck were showing as a year old.
As mentioned above, the Twitter bug essentially kicked users out of the service and wouldn’t let them log in again. The bug also affected mobile website users as well as TweetDeck desktop users. At the time of filing this story however, some users who were logged out, are now able to sign in.http://www.bgr.in/news/is-this-why-twitter-was-down-for-many-android-users/
