It’s been just over a year since CloudMagicdebuted. The company set out to build a mail application that removes the time-consuming organization of emails (folding, labelling, deleting, and archiving). It searches across all of your mailboxes, offers smart search suggestions, and can show you search results as you type.Over the 15 months, the app has evolved and now includes support for Android Wear, the addition of CloudMagic Cards (add-ons for tools like Evernote, Pocket, Trello, and ToDoit). Now, the company is taking a break from improving the basic service and taking a look at how it can cater to power users while also making money. The end product is CloudMagic Pro, which costs about five bucks a month (or $45 per year) and features support for unlimited email accounts, preferences that are sync’d across all devices, the ability to download attachments in the background, and remote wipe if you lose your device. You’ll also get priority support. Some of the features included in the subscription version of CloudMagic are likely features that regular customers wouldn’t mind missing out on (like unlimited email accounts), but stuff like remote wipe and priority support might be enough to convince users of the free version to make the switch.
