Release date


The Nokia N1 will make its debut in China on 19 February, before being released in Russia and Europe. The tablet is available to pre-order in China now although it is currently showing as sold out, with buyers promptly snapping up 20,000 units in just four minutes.Nokia has yet to announce specific UK release date details.

Price


Nokia has announced that the N1 will cost $249 (around £160), before taxes and subsidies, when it goes on sale next year.In China, where it is available to order, the Nokia N1 has been priced at ¥1599, or roughly $267.No UK-specific pricing details have yet been announced.

Specifications


At the forefront of the Nokia N1 is Google's Android 5.0 operating system and, unlike the majority of Android tablets on the market, it will run a stock version of the Lollipop software.However, Nokia will equip the tablet with its custom Nokia Z Launcher, which it claims will adapt to the way the tablet is used, and show the apps used the most. The software also enables users possible to doodle a letter on the display to find an app. Scribbling a 'F' will bring up the Facebook app, for example.The Nokia N1 also takes advantage of Lollipop's 64-bit support, packing a 2.4GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor paired with 2GB RAM. The tablet comes with 32GB included storage, and there's no room to expand via microSD.Taking tips from the iPad Mini, the Nokia N1 packs a 7.9in 2,560x1,536 IPS LCD display which sports a protective layer of Gorilla Glass and Nokia's zero air gap technology.It also trumps the Nexus 9 when it comes to pixel density, the 7.9in screen boasting 324ppi.This screen is housed within the Nokia N1's fully-aluminium casing, which measures 201x139x6.9mm and tips the scales at 318g. This casing also comes with a Type-C USB port, making the Nokia N1 one of the first devices to support the new reversible USB standard. Beyond this, the Nokia N1 features an 8MP rear-facing camera capable of shooting 1080p HD video, a 5MP front-facing camera, 0.5W stereo speakers, Bluetooth 4.0, dual-band 802.11ac WiFi and a 5,300mAh battery.
