While HTC is preparing its Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the HTC One M8 and HTC One M7, its main competitor from South Korea is continuing the rollout procedure of the Samsung Galaxy S 5 Lollipop update. S5 users in Spain, Poland, Russia and Malaysia are already enjoying the latest dessert treat from Google, and now it’s time for those in the UK to join the party. The build you should expect to receive is LRX21T, and it looks like it is based on Android 5.0, instead of the latest Android 5.0.2 code (which would have probably delayed the roll-out process, as noted by SamMobile). Because of the new design and overall looks of Android, Samsung had to follow suit and redesign basic, core apps, like Phone, Messaging, Calculator, and so on.Aside from other Android-induced changes and additions, like lock screen notifications, the new version also improves fingerprint scanning performance, by the addition of a new driver, and a Note 4 lock-screen port-over. In order to get the update, you should either grab it over-the-air or use Samsung’s own KIES software to install it. The date of the build is January 7, 2015, and refers to SM-G900F models.
